Grady from White Lung’s on SVTs, Practice Space Crackheads

We met up with the bombastic Grady from White Lung when they hit Portland on tour for their radical new album Sorry. Grady didn’t mince words after their gig at Portland’s punk-friendly the Know, so we got to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Here are here thoughts on:
Best Vancouver Band: “Nu Sensae.”
Songwriting: “Either Kenny or I bring a riff in. We all write songs.”
Bass Setup: ”I have an Ampeg, and a Fender P-Bass. I have an SVT … which I hate.”
First Song Learned: “Probably ‘Come As You Are.’”
Nardwuar: “I’ve met Nardwuar before. I love Nardwuar.”
White Lung’s Vancouver Practice Space: “Filled with crackheads, basically.”
How to Improve Your Playing: “Not to sound completely fucking cheesy, just keep doing it. Something will turn up that you really love to do.”
